Ballot Building

The Center’s Ballot Building staff consists of one center employee and two Secretary of State employees assigned to the Center. For ballot building purposes the state of Georgia is divided into three geographical regions: northeast, northwest, and south. The counties within a region are assigned to a ballot builder. The Office of the Secretary of State provides ballot building services through the center at no cost to the counties.

For the March 2004 election the Center built the databases and ballots for 102 counties. For the remaining 57 counties who built the ballots themselves or contracted with the vendor, the Center was required to review these databases and ballots for adherence to state standards.
